On the job ask questions with the intent to learn something new. When you feel that you've asked all the questions that you possibly can it may be time to explore a new opportunity.

Education Vs. No Education
If you have a degree and the job requires it make sure that you have it towards the top. Especially if your degree is in the same field as the job.
If you don't have a degree what you need to do is make sure your experience reflects that you meet the job qualifications. Get rid of anything on your resume that doesn't show you can do the job you are applying for.
